New Thrift Store on Claiborne Avenue

Along with sweet olive blooms, daffodils and other flowers are popping up in yards all over town. It also seems that the New Orleans Thrift Scene is coming back bigger than ever. There is a new shop at 1832 Claiborne Avenue. This shop pops up as soon as you take the North Claiborne exit from the Interstate in a bright orange strip mall that has been repainted since the storm. The shop is called "Thrift Center" and it just opened up in March. The manager says they have been very busy, especially selling jeans to construction workers and housewares to families moving back since Katrina.
But what I noticed was that they had a lot of really cute shoes. In the $4 range!

Thrift Center, 1832 Claiborne is open Monday Through Saturday 9-6. It is located on the riverside of the street. See you there!

Love those orange walls! I painted my home office bright orange. Sometimes you just need color all around you. As well as $4 shoes!

This Thrift Center is wonderful and the prices are great. I was able to find school uniforms for my neighbors kids, and my friend found a practically brand new crib for her new born. You have to check this place out. Talk about a bargain!!!!!!
