Its been a crazy week down on de bayou chers. We are surviving and looking forward to a successful holiday season- next year will be year 10! yes 10! in creative produ$tion down on de bayou, both Heather & I. I've been looking for something new to do besides my little shotgun houses which are going into year 7 and have come up with these little sewn goodies.So many leather and fabric scraps to use up and recreate. Let me know what you think...

These are great! They're adorable. I was just shopping for ornaments today and their is a lot of junk, I'd much rather something handmade like these.

Hello Thrifting in Oblivion!
This is an invitation to join 16 Blogs now backing a petition calling for a National Thrift Store month. My blog, The Thrifty Chicks has been very busy this week, I had an opinion piece, “Green Shopping: Don’t Say eew to thrift stores,” run in Monday’s print edition of The Christian Science Monitor and on Tuesday MSN Money will ran a article featuring 8 Tips on thrift which I was interviewed as the field expert and either today or tomorrow, Renewable Energy World will run a five minute podcast interview with me discussing the significant energy savings in shopping thrift. So, this would be a great time to get into the petition mix.
If you write a post on your blog, and link it to The Thrify Chicks, snag the thrift petition logo and link to the petition from the top right of my blog and leave it with the lin on yours, I will:
1. Put Thrifting in Oblivion on The Thrifty Chicks “A List of Petition Backers” at the top right of The Thrifty Chicks page under the petition GIF.
2. Write a post on Saturday, listing most recent petition backers including Apron Thrift Girl and Fashion Evolved.
